Abstract:
I will introduce a new model of liquid crystal flows coupling the harmonic map heat flow with free boundary with a Navier-Stokes system. I will prove existence in 2D of partially smooth solutions and provide an example of solution blowing-up in finite time. I will also address some open problems.
